We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lower School Teacher who is committed to delivering core academic instruction through intentional, evidence-based, multisensory, and differentiated teaching practices. Your instruction will honor each student's unique learning profile and support not only academic progress but also confidence, independence, and the development of authentic self-advocacy.

This is an exciting opportunity to create a vibrant, engaging classroom environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning, a place where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. As a Lower School Teacher, you will be instrumental in shaping both the academic and social-emotional development of young learners, implementing innovative teaching strategies rooted in best practices for early childhood and specialized education.

Duties

  • Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans across core subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies, tailored to diverse learning styles and developmental levels
  • Incorporate learning technology and interactive tools to enhance student engagement and understanding
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, creating a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives that support student growth
  • Provide mentorship and support to students with special needs or those requiring early intervention strategies, including working with children with autism or other developmental challenges

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred
  • Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged students in diverse settings
  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles and effective classroom management techniques
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and standardized testing procedures
  • Knowledge of learning technology tools and their integration into daily lessons
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students individually and in group settings while fostering a positive classroom culture
  • Experience working with children with special needs or in private school environments is highly desirable
