Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and menu execution, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role requires leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences. The Lead Line Cook will oversee daily kitchen activities, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the development of junior kitchen staff.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen line, ensuring efficiency and quality control
- Assist in menu planning and development to enhance dining options
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Handle food handling responsibilities including portioning, plating, and garnishing dishes
- Support catering events and special functions as needed
- Uphold cleanliness of workstations and ensure all equipment is properly maintained
Requirements
- Proven experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, dietary department, or restaurant kitchen experience
- Strong culinary skills including knife skills, meal preparation, and food handling expertise
- Experience with menu planning, fine dining preparation, and food presentation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Ability to lead a team effectively in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience in catering or serving is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards
