Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service.
- Supervise and motivate staff, including training new team members, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting ongoing development to foster a positive work environment.
- Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing levels, and ensure proper coverage during peak hours to optimize service flow.
- Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste while ensuring food quality standards are met.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, proper handling procedures, and consistent presentation.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS accurately for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Enforce food safety regulations and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with health department guidelines.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guests leave satisfied with their experience.
- Assist in budgeting activities, including cost control measures related to food production and labor costs.
- Support catering events or banquet services as needed to expand revenue streams.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and dining area that reflects our commitment to hospitality excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within quick service or fast food establishments; casual dining or fine dining experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for transaction processing.
- Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, and cost management within the food industry.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and performance coaching.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Hands-on experience with shift management and supervising kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures across various culinary settings including catering or banquet services is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels; previous interviewing experience is a plus.
- Hospitality management background with experience in hotel or bar environments is advantageous.
