Job Description
Clinical Ink is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Engineering team based remotely across the United States The Technical Project Manager will lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers while driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver complex data engineering initiatives on-time and in compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience overseeing project planning and execution, reviewing and guiding technical solutions, streamlining data quality and automation processes, and providing clear, executive-level communication on project status, risks, and strategic opportunities. The Technical Project Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Data Engineers, providing guidance on priorities, technical challenges, and career development.
  • Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams including Product Management, Data Management, R&D, and Clinical Operations.
  • Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables for data engineering initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., GCP, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11) and internal SOPs.
  • Review technical solutions for data anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure best practices in coding, documentation, and data governance are followed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project status, risks, and escalations.
  • Translate complex technical issues into clear updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular progress meetings and provide executive-level reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows, improve data quality processes, and enhance automation.
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies in data engineering and analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management, with at least 2 years managing data engineering or software development teams.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and SQL-based data analysis.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (Python, Java, Scala) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with clinical trial data or healthcare datasets.
  • Familiarity with Clinical Ink products, integrations, and processes.
