CDL Driver - Class A

St. Vincent de Paul is looking for ambitious and hardworking individuals to add to our team We have full-time work available as a Class A CDL Truck Driver to pick up mattresses, recycling bins, and shipping containers from our warehouses in Eugene, OR

Candidate must have exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, have the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and work hard and efficiently in all weather conditions. This position also requires motivation, and the ability to work as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides delivery of material to customer sites or other branch location
• Maintains delivery vehicle in clean, good working condition and monitors maintenance and mileage data
• Maintains daily driver logs and daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR)
• Completes truck summary, driver's log and other backup detail daily
• Must observe and adhere to all local, state, and federal DOT regulations and BSE driver policies.
• Must have a full understanding of truck routes and may coordinate deliveries with our own trucks
• Loads and unloads material at the branch and customer locations
• Supports the operation functions of the warehouse
• This list is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Valid Class A CDL with 3 previous years consecutive driving with a good Motor Vehicle Record
• Basic literacy skills as gathered in high school or equivalent
• Ability to use tie-down knot, lift gate, hand truck and forklift
• Knowledge of local area necessary
• Ability to work with the highest regard for personal safety and the safety of those around you
• Has passed the required company and DOT physical, required drug test, company in-truck driving test, and otherwise meets DOT requirements
• Strong oral communication skills when dealing with the public as well as co-workers
• Self-motivated, organized and able to work as part of a team
• Frequent walking, lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling to pick up, deliver, load and unload items throughout the day
