**Radiology Tech - Meritus Ortho

At Meritus Health's Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic, imaging plays a critical role in diagnosis, treatment planning, and recovery. As a Radiologic Technologist in this specialized setting, you'll perform diagnostic imaging procedures focused on musculoskeletal conditions for patients of all ages. You'll work closely with orthopedic providers to deliver high-quality radiographs that support timely, accurate care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
This role is ideal for a technologist who values precision, patient interaction, and collaborative care. You'll apply advanced imaging techniques, maintain equipment, and ensure a smooth experience for patients navigating orthopedic concerns.
Key Responsibilities**
- Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment with competence and care
- Prepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and clean radiographic areas to ensure readiness and safety
- Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as needed
- Obtain and document clinical information from patients accurately
- Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediately
- Record pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reports
- Serve as a resource to other staff, offering guidance and support as needed
- Assist with outpatient medical assisting duties (e.g., vitals, medical history documentation) when appropriate and after demonstrated competency

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Completion of an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
Experience
- One year of experience as a radiographer preferred
Licensure/Certification
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
- Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist required
- Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Proficiency in radiographic techniques and digital imaging equipment
- Strong understanding of anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety principles
- Ability to prepare and administer contrast medications safely
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
