Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing a wide range of skills including chairside assisting, infection control, and medical documentation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained.
- Take dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records to ensure accurate medical documentation and records management.
- Operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency.
- Educate patients on dental procedures, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care using appropriate dental terminology.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control standards.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental office setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
- Ability to operate X-ray machines and other medical imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients about treatments and oral health practices.
- Certification or training in chairside assisting; experience with four-handed dentistry is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
