Job Summary
As the Senior Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and elevating the associate experience at Sheraton San Diego. In this position, you will collaborate with hotel leadership to implement effective strategies across all areas of Human Resources, including recruitment, benefits, employee relations, training and development, workers' compensation, leaves of absence and labor relations.
To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who is proactive, highly organized, and known for exceptional communication and follow-through. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the hotel while navigating change with ease. Salary Range: $80,000 to $90,000 annualized based on experience
Work Schedule:
- This is an exempt position. Work Schedule is typically Monday through Friday and may occasionally include holidays, nights and weekends depending on hotel events and functions
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 2 years of hotel Human Resources experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience in recruitment, benefits administration, workers' compensation, leave management, employee engagement, and California employment law and regulations
- Experience with labor relations preferred
- Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent time-management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30lbs on a frequent basis
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to foster a best-in-class associate culture
- Ensure hotel compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Manage and oversee recruitment, benefits administration, workers' compensation, leave management, and employee engagement initiatives
- Manage complex employee relations issues including conducting investigations and recommending timely and appropriate actions
- Develop change management plans while effectively managing stakeholders
- Manage labor relations proactively and maintain strong relationships with union partners
- Develop, lead and facilitate learning and development initiatives to meet or exceed expectations of ownership, the Sheraton Brand, and our guests
- Plan, coordinate, and execute employee events and recognition programs
- Follow all standard operation procedures, and safety standards
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers and all hotel departments to support a strong team environment
- Comply with all relevant policies and consistently strive to enhance operational standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
