Job Overview

Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Monitoring and documenting overall health status of clients.
• Providing person served care in accordance with established care plans while respecting resident rights.
• Supporting individuals in community integration through social activities and outings.
• Implementing strategies to promote independence and skill development for individuals with disabilities.
• Administering first aid as needed and ensuring a safe environment for all clients.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related fields is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles.
• Skills in patient monitoring and understanding of vital signs.
• Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Strong communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
• A commitment to providing compassionate home community care that respects the dignity of each individual.
• Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of clients in assisted living environments.
