Summary

The General Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to

  • Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

None.

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent; at least one year of experience in a related filed, preferably in a supermarket environment; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver's license.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Knowledgeable in use of computer software applications customarily used in the job function at an appropriate proficiency level.

  • The employee will also occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50 pounds or more. While individual items may not be excessively heavy, the cumulative effect of handling multiple items may require some physical exertion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

Work is conducted in an environment which may include, but is not limited to, varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided if needed and for designated areas and job tasks. Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols is mandatory. Employees are expected to report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
