Biteology delivers fresh, warm, home-style meals built for college students. The Head Chef & Kitchen Manager owns what matters most: the food. You will run day-to-day kitchen operations, lead production, and continuously improve the menu so every meal is high-quality, consistent, and ready on time as we scale from our first campus to many.
What you'll do
- Own the menu: Build and manage Biteology's menu, keeping fan favorites while introducing new items that students love.
- Lead daily production: Plan prep and cooking schedules, execute service, and ensure meals are produced efficiently without sacrificing quality.
- Run the kitchen: Manage staff, stations, workflows, cleanliness, and compliance. Set standards and train the team to hit them every day.
- Quality control: Taste, test, and refine recipes. Maintain consistent portions and presentation, and enforce a high bar for freshness and flavor.
- On-time execution: Coordinate cooking and packing so meals are completed and ready for scheduled pickup/delivery windows.
- Inventory + cost discipline: Order smart, control food cost, reduce waste, and keep the kitchen stocked for smooth operations.
- Scale the playbook: Document recipes, specs, and processes so Biteology can grow quickly while keeping quality consistent across higher volume and future locations.
- Continuous improvement: Use feedback from students and internal metrics to improve the menu, operations, and throughput week over week.
What we're looking for
- Experience with and a passion for cooking. Strong leadership and accountability. Great care for your work and the success of the company
- Strong operational instincts: prep planning, line flow, timing, and consistency under pressure
- A high standard for food quality and pride in making meals people genuinely crave
- Comfort leading a small team, training staff, and holding standards
- Food safety knowledge and strong cleanliness/organization habits (we can train/certify formally)
Why this role matters
You're not just running a kitchen. You're building the food and operational foundation for a campus-first meal brand that needs to be excellent from day one and get better as we grow.
