Day Program Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities. This role involves assisting individuals in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence while respecting their rights and dignity. Responsibilities

• Monitor the health and well-being of individuals.
• Assist with medication administration as prescribed, ensuring compliance with resident rights and HIPAA regulations.
• Provide personal care services, including hygiene assistance, dressing, and grooming.
• Support individuals in daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and transportation.
• Engage individuals in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals, adhering to hygiene standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each persons needs.
• Advocate for individuals rights and preferences, ensuring they are respected in all aspects of care.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or in home care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights, patient monitoring techniques, and medication administration protocols is essential.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect confidentiality is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and team members.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial traits for success in this role.
