We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk for our San Francisco, California location. This role is critical to our logistics operations, managing the accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments. You will be responsible for verifying order details, preparing necessary documentation, coordinating with shipping carriers, and ensuring that all packages meet shipping requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Physical demands include frequent lifting of packages, so a good level of stamina is required. Safety is a core value, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Process and document all outgoing shipments accurately using our WMS.
- Verify order contents against shipping manifests and customer orders.
- Coordinate with multiple shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, customer service) regarding shipment status.
- Maintain accurate records of all outbound shipments.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines.
- Ensure all packages are properly prepared and labeled for shipment according to carrier regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with WMS and shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
