Seeking motivated individuals for a Picker/Packer role in our bustling Chicago, Illinois distribution center. This position is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately picked from inventory and expertly packed for shipment. You will be responsible for efficiently navigating our warehouse, identifying correct items, and preparing them for transit. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications, using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Verify product codes, quantities, and descriptions to ensure order accuracy.
- Inspect items for damage or defects before packing.
- Carefully and efficiently pack orders into appropriate shipping containers, ensuring items are protected during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and any necessary documentation to packages.
- Stage packed orders in designated areas for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and surrounding work area.
- Adhere to all company Safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock replenishment as needed.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to a supervisor promptly.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and assist colleagues as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a picker, packer, or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability for moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs) and moving boxes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in picking and packing.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with Safety protocols in a warehouse setting.
