Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, ensuring that stock levels are precise and readily available. Your keen eye for detail will be paramount in identifying discrepancies, investigating their causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future errors. This position demands a proactive approach to inventory management, encompassing regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and the reconciliation of all inventory movements. You will work closely with warehouse operations, purchasing, and sales departments to ensure seamless flow of goods and information.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor stock levels and report on any potential shortages or overages.
  • Ensure proper organization and placement of inventory within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize storage and retrieval processes.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in the training of new team members on inventory control procedures.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics operations.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, as needed. Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
