We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Coordinator to oversee operations at our facility in Washington, D.C. This leadership role is pivotal to ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and Safety of our warehouse activities. As a Warehouse Coordinator, you will manage inventory levels, supervise warehouse staff, optimize storage space, and coordinate the flow of goods throughout the Logistics process. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing best practices in warehouse management, including strict adherence to Safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, and a proven ability to problem-solve and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include managing receiving and shipping schedules, maintaining warehouse records, training new employees, and ensuring compliance with all company policies. Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and storage strategies.
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff.
- Ensure all staff adhere to Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Monitor and manage warehouse equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate with other departments and external partners to ensure smooth Logistics flow.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct regular Safety inspections and ensure a safe working environment.
- Must be capable of overseeing tasks that involve significant Lifting and material handling.
- Manage the scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or coordination role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
- Experience with managing teams and driving performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and WMS software.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
