Become a key player in our Chicago, Illinois logistics operations as a Material Handler! We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring the efficient flow of products through our facility. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, utilizing various equipment to transport goods. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures are paramount. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, staging docks, and storage locations.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including banding, wrapping, and labeling.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Excellent physical condition and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting.
- Must be able to perform lifting of up to 60 lbs consistently.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
