We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic warehouse team in Detroit, Michigan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of inventory records, ensuring that stock levels are optimized, and minimizing discrepancies. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our logistics and fulfillment processes. You will work closely with various departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to ensure seamless inventory management. The ability to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and maintain a clean and organized stockroom is paramount. Compliance with all company policies and safety regulations is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report any potential shortages or overages.
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ).
- Participate in warehouse audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Assist with the reconciliation of inventory between physical counts and system records.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics .
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of PPE and warehouse safety best practices is a plus.
