We are hiring an Order Picker to join our efficient logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is vital for ensuring that our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for locating and retrieving specific items from our warehouse inventory based on order tickets. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently are key requirements for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately locate and pick specified items from warehouse shelves and storage locations using pick lists or scanners.
- Verify the quantity and condition of items being picked.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area.
- Assist with maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the picking areas.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all shifts.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department through diligent work.
- Report any picking discrepancies or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity targets.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including potential overtime.
