We are seeking a motivated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods from receiving to dispatch. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) to load and unload goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on forklifts, reporting any issues immediately.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments, ensuring correct items and quantities are handled.
- Stack and organize merchandise according to warehouse layout and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Follow all established safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
