We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Coordinator to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. The Warehouse Coordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety. This position involves managing inventory levels, coordinating the receiving and dispatching of goods, and optimizing warehouse workflow. You will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, assigning tasks, and providing guidance to ensure all operational objectives are met. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, as you will liaise with various departments, carriers, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse management, a deep understanding of logistics principles, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will be expected to implement and enforce company policies and procedures, including strict adherence to PPE requirements. This role demands physical stamina and the ability to handle occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, managing shipping schedules, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance.
- Coordinate and manage inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Plan and schedule shipments, coordinating with transportation providers to ensure timely delivery.
- Implement and enforce all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Manage the efficient use of warehouse space and equipment.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Coordinator or in a similar supervisory role.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse procedures and inventory management.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) and MS Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of logistics and shipping operations.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including frequent Lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to all required PPE guidelines.
