We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our growing warehouse team in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical to our company's success, ensuring that customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess a keen eye for detail, and be dedicated to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. You will be responsible for retrieving items from warehouse storage, carefully packing them for shipment, and ensuring the integrity of every order.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately locate and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves using pick lists or scanning devices.
- Inspect items for damage or defects prior to packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, using necessary protective materials.
- Verify order accuracy against documentation to prevent errors.
- Apply correct shipping labels and any required documentation to packages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station and surrounding areas.
- Strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ).
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily fulfillment and shipping targets.
- Support overall warehouse logistics by assisting with other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or general warehouse work is preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Proficiency in basic reading and math skills.
- Capable of frequent bending, reaching, and **Lifting** up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics workflow.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A focus on workplace safety is paramount.
