We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Antonio, Texas. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for the accurate and efficient unloading, inspection, and recording of all incoming shipments. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of goods into the warehouse. You will work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues with incoming freight. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse or logistics environment and be comfortable with basic computer systems for data entry and record keeping. Compliance with all safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory for this position. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs. We are committed to providing a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and verify contents against purchase orders or shipping manifests.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Notify vendors and internal departments of any shipping errors or damaged goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, receiving, or logistics role preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping documents and basic inventory control principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
