Our dynamic logistics company in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring all goods are received accurately, inspected, and processed efficiently into our system. Your meticulous work is essential for maintaining inventory integrity and supporting our overall supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Unload trucks and containers using appropriate equipment, ensuring safe handling.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Use of appropriate PPE is mandatory.
- Coordinate with shipping departments and vendors regarding discrepancies or delivery issues.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment as needed for material handling.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support logistics operations.
- Tasks may include some lifting and moving of inventory.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related logistics role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks involving lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED required.
