We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our Richmond, Virginia facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and organization of materials within the warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from various departments, and ensuring that inventory is stored safely and logically. Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment will be a significant part of your day, requiring proper certification and adherence to strict Safety protocols. This position demands physical capability, including the ability to perform significant Lifting of heavy items, often exceeding 50 lbs. You will be expected to wear and correctly utilize all required PPE , including safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots. As an integral part of our Logistics network, your efficiency and careful handling of materials are paramount to our operational success. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to designated production or storage areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in a secure and organized manner.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or damages.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and procedures.
- Assist with physical inventory counts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
