We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This leadership role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our distribution center. You will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, managing staff, optimizing workflows, and upholding the highest standards of safety and productivity. Your expertise in logistics and team management will be essential. This role demands strong decision-making skills and the ability to foster a positive and productive work environment. You will be responsible for training and developing your team, ensuring adherence to all operational procedures, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. A strong commitment to safety, including the enforcement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, is paramount. This position may involve some manual lifting and requires a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities and staff.
- Develop and implement efficient work schedules and assign tasks.
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with safety regulations and company policies, including mandatory PPE use.
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee stock rotation and accuracy.
- Train and mentor warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Manage the receiving, warehousing, and distribution process.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures for all incoming and outgoing goods.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues and discrepancies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any identified risks.
- Prepare performance reports and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Liaise with other departments and external partners to ensure seamless logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations, including PPE requirements.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and make sound decisions.
- Capability for some physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
