About PsiQuantum PsiQuantum’s mission is to build the first useful quantum computers that deliver the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Since our founding in 2016 our focus has been to design and deploy million‑qubit fault‑tolerant quantum systems. Quantum computers harness the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that even the most advanced supercomputers or AI systems cannot. Their impact will span energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials and other foundational industries. Our architecture is based on silicon photonics, leveraging ահ advanced semiconductor manufacturing—including partners like GlobalFoundries—to use high‑volume processes that produce billions of chips for telecom and consumer electronics. Photonics offers natural scalability: photons don’t feel heat, are immune to electromagnetic interference, and integrate with existing cryogenic cooling and standard fiber‑optic infrastructure. In 2024 PsiQuantum announced government‑funded projects to build its first utility‑scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia and Chicago, Illinois, reflecting a growing recognition that quantum computing will be strategically.Fire new opportunities and a clear path to impact in the real world.
Job Summary PsiQuantum’s applications team is uniquely focused on algorithms in the fault‑tolerant regime and is tightly integrated with quantum‑architecture development. The quantum applications software engineer will design, build, and deploy tools that drive the development of quantum applications for solving the world’s most pressing problems. Working closely with architects and engineers, the engineer creates software toolkits and workflows that enable quantum algorithms to move from concept to reality. This work may involve collaboration with external partners on specific use cases and directly enables the discovery of new quantum application use‑cases and novel algorithmic techniques.
