The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position exists to provide short-term safe, quality, and supportive residential services to clients of the Minnesota Specialty Health System (MSHS) in Willmar. As an Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) facility, MSHS Willmar focuses on rehabilitative education, building interpersonal skills, and developing community engagement skills to increase each client’s independence and self-management of their illness, behavior, and emotion. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform tasks to improve functional skills of the client by providing short-term safe, quality, and supportive residential services.
Administer medication under the supervision of the program’s nurse consultant.
Actively participate and assist clients in providing strategies and treatment recommendations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must:
Meet the qualifications of the section 245I.04, subdivision 14, Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Possess or be eligible for licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse.
***Future Practical Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-LPN.
Preferred Qualifications
Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting.
Experience working in a hospital setting.
