United States Cold Storage, Inc. seeks a Data Engineer in Camden, NJ. The Data Engineer will migrate and automate all customer inventory balance reports to enhance visibility of reports and aid the business in making informed decisions related to inbounds and outbound sales. The Data Engineer will investigate and correct logistics data as it is related to inbounds and appointments for different warehouses to improve the accuracy of tableau dashboards insights resulting in better inventory management. The Data Engineer will report directly to the Data Engineer Manager. Additional specific job duties will include: Work on modeling of a new source system in snowflake to pull in data using a REST API; Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, and assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements; Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.; Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies; Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics; Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs; Keep data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions; Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader; Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data systems; Leverage SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), unstructured datasets, message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores; Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management; and Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. The Data Engineer must have at a minimum a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Must have certifications in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 & Data Streaming, Data Engineering w/ MS Azure Synapse Apache Spark Pools, Data Storage in Microsoft Azure, Data Warehousing w/ Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Azure for Data Engineering, Operational Analytics w/ Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics.
