We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport, stack, and retrieve inventory. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, possesses excellent maneuvering skills, and is committed to maintaining operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered equipment to move materials.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas.
- Transport inventory to and from designated locations within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and organized manner.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and put-aways.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow all Logistics procedures for material handling and storage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Proven ability to safely maneuver forklifts in confined spaces and handle various types of loads.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Logistics operations and inventory control.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear and comply with all PPE requirements.
