We are seeking an energetic and dependable Order Picker to join our Des Moines, Iowa warehouse team. In this role, you will be instrumental in fulfilling customer orders by accurately and efficiently retrieving items from our extensive inventory. Your responsibilities will include using hand-held scanners, navigating the warehouse, and ensuring the correct products are selected for shipment. This is a physically active position that requires attention to detail and a commitment to upholding safety standards in a dynamic logistics environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from designated locations using pick lists and scanning equipment.
- Verify product identification, quantity, and condition before placing items in the designated order container.
- Follow specific picking instructions and warehouse layout to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and work area, contributing to overall warehouse safety.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damages to a supervisor promptly.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, such as stocking or sorting.
- Contribute to meeting daily order fulfillment goals within our logistics operations.
- Must be able to perform frequent lifting of items up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret order tickets and product labels.
- Basic math skills for quantity verification.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory systems is beneficial.
