Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in our Virginia Beach, Virginia warehouse. The Forklift Operator is a critical role in our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within the facility. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas. A valid forklift operating certification or demonstrable experience is required. This position demands a strong commitment to safety , meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You must adhere strictly to all operational procedures and maintain equipment in good working order. Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times. While operating equipment, you'll also be involved in general warehouse tasks, including some manual handling and lifting . Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange merchandise in accordance with warehouse procedures.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, following all safety guidelines.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times while operating machinery and in designated areas.
- Perform general warehouse duties as required, including some lifting .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of forklift operation safety procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and some lifting .
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to wear and maintain required PPE .
