Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which directly impacts our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that inventory data is accurate and up-to-date. This position requires a meticulous approach, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. Safety protocols, including the use of PPE and safe lifting practices, must be followed diligently.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and other departments to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and report on potential shortages or overages.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Assist with training staff on inventory control best practices and safe lifting techniques.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workplace.
