We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for dispatch. This role is vital to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work closely with warehouse associates and transportation carriers to coordinate timely and efficient deliveries. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping information and prepare shipping labels and documentation.
- Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy, completeness, and proper packaging.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking information.
- Operate shipping software and systems to process orders.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the job.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments as needed, adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Contribute to a safe and organized shipping department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative role in logistics.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 40 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
