Salary: GBP 35,000 – 42,000 (depending on experience). Type: Permanent.
Key Attributes
At least 2 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
Experience with machinery design, hydraulics, sheet metal and precision components
Strong 3D CAD skills – Inventor or SolidWorks preferably
Strong practical skills – hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing and prototyping
Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / ONC qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering
Experience designing products from concept to production
Ability to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
Ability to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
Innovative, accurate and passionate about design
Technically minded with a head for problem solving
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Ability to work well individually as well as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
Use CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
Use Inventor software for day‑to‑day design work
Be responsible for research, hand calculations, FEA, testing and prototyping
Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to production
Create models and prototypes
Liaise with clients and develop solutions for design specifications
Collaborate with different departments to ensure smooth project delivery
Maintain technical drawings and documentation
Provide technical guidance and support
Support product testing, verification and validation
Support more junior members of the team
