Structural Engineer

Sedgman Canada Ltd. is a consulting engineering company in the mining space, currently experiencing rapid expansion in our North American offices. We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. The role supports structural engineering projects through design, drafting oversight, budget and schedule control, and preparing technical reports.

• Perform structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes and industry standards.
• Participate in concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs.
• Conduct detailed concrete and steel design, collaborating with Drafters to produce models and documentation meeting quality and project requirements.
• Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection.
• Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and 3D model reviews to ensure reliability, maintenance, construction, and safety requirements are met.
• Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process, and Mechanical.
• Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Registered member of the Professional Engineering association in BC (EGBC).
• Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.
• Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design, consultancy, and operational environments.
• Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired.
• Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities, and activities.
• Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable.
• Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Gross salary range: $95,000 to $155,000. The exact offer will take into account education, experience, skills, geographical location, and market conditions at the time of hire.
