Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will lead or support design and development projects from concept through completion, review specifications and industry standards, engage directly with customers, advance existing technologies, collaborate across disciplines, define electrical design parameters, develop product test plans, document designs, and support a healthy and safe workplace.

Reporting To : Rotary Dev Engineering Manager

Work Schedule : Hybrid – Halifax, NS

In This Role, You Will
  • Lead or support design and development projects from concept through completion.
  • Review and interpret specifications and industry standards to define, develop, and realize innovative products and solutions.
  • Engage directly with customers to support projects, contribute to proposals, and address technical inquiries related to their applications.
  • Maintain and advance existing technology and product designs, with a focus on performance, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Define and specify electrical design parameters, components, and equipment to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop product test plans and procedures to verify product integrity and conformance.
  • Document electrical product design and performance through drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Check technical drawings and documents for accuracy, quality, and completeness.

What You Bring
  • BASc/BEng in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
  • Experience in electrical power and signal transmission design (asset).
  • Experience with marine equipment design (asset).
  • Product compliance experience, specifically offshore and hazardous area, (asset).
  • Exposure to mechanical, fiber optic, electronics, software, and systems design (asset).
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance in a Canadian Controlled Goods facility.
