Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - Trading)

Salary : $154,000 CAD/year + bonus + equity + benefits

This role supports Coinbase’s Trading team, building the backend infrastructure for:

• Simple and Advanced Trading
• Decentralized (DEX) Trading

You'll engineer low-latency , high-availability systems that power crypto trading globally. This is a mission-critical position directly tied to the core revenue engine of Coinbase.

• Architecting and scaling backend services for live crypto trading
• Building infrastructure that supports various trading instruments (Spot, Futures, etc.)
• Collaborating tightly with product and design teams to optimize UX
• Translating innovative ideas into impactful product features

• 2+ years of backend engineering experience
• Experience designing and scaling production-grade services
• Strong standards for observability, maintainability, and user-centric development
• Track record of shipping high-performance software
• Experience with financial/trading systems
• Active trading experience (crypto or traditional)
• Experience re-architecting legacy systems
• Familiarity with Golang, MongoDB, Redis
• Crypto-native experience (ENS, wallets, dApps)
