About The Opportunity
The company is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team for a seismic upgrade project located in Campbell River, BC. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale infrastructure initiative, with direct involvement in the planning and execution of structural works.
About The Position
This is an On-site Structural Engineer in Campbell River, BC. You will be responsible for supporting field operations through the design and implementation of temporary and permanent structural components. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to ensure engineering standards are upheld throughout the construction process.
Main duties:

• Collaborate with field teams to develop concepts and designs for temporary structural solutions
• Prepare detailed technical drawings and schematics in coordination with internal and external engineering teams
• Design temporary works including concrete formwork, access systems, and lift plans
• Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings and welding procedures
• Perform material take-offs and generate bills of materials
• Conduct quality checks to ensure structural work meets specifications
• Provide support during fabrication of temporary and permanent steel structures
• Maintain consistent progress reporting to clients, management, and project teams
• Engage with clients, consultants, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and regulatory standards
  

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
• Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or working towards it
• Minimum 3–5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects
• Experience in hydroelectric projects is considered an asset
• Familiarity with WorkSafe BC regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and related software
• Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditions
