SRE-DevSecOps Engineer

High Tech Genesis is seeking a 3-month contractor who can hit the ground running to support our SaaS platform on AWS.

• Kubernetes/EKS Operations – Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize workloads on EKS; handle Helm-based deployments.
• Postgres/Patroni Administration – Support and troubleshoot HA Postgres clusters (Patroni), including replication, failover, and performance tuning.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Build and maintain Terraform modules for AWS networking, compute, and storage (Transit Gateway, VPC endpoints, IAM, Security Groups).
• RBAC & IAM – Design and troubleshoot IAM policies, roles, and RBAC permissions across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Storage Troubleshooting – Debug and optimize EFS/EBS performance and availability issues.
• Automation & Scripting – Write automation in Python and Bash to improve reliability and streamline infrastructure operations.
• CI/CD & DevSecOps – Support GitLab CI/CD pipelines, integrate security scanning (SAST/DAST, Trivy, SonarQube), and enforce best practices.
• Data & Application Migration – Lead migration efforts for GitLab, Harbor artifacts, MinIO data, and SaaS applications.
• Cross-Team Collaboration – Partner with SRE, platform, and application engineers to unblock teams and stabilize environments.
• AI-Enhanced Engineering – Leverage AmazonQ or similar AI tools for faster troubleshooting and automation.
• Strong hands-on with AWS core services: Transit Gateway, VPC Endpoints, IAM, Security Groups, EFS, and EBS
• Deep expertise with EKS, Helm, Terraform, Kubernetes RBAC, and troubleshooting at scale
• Proven experience with Postgres/Patroni administration and troubleshooting
• Advanced automation in Python (preferred) and Bash
• CI/CD experience (GitLab/Jenkins or equivalent)
• Strong troubleshooting mindset — ability to debug infra, networking, and storage issues quickly
• Experience with large-scale migrations of environments, data, and applications
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices (secrets management, vulnerability scanning, compliance automation)

• Familiarity with AmazonQ or similar AI coding assistants
• Hands-on with Harbor, MinIO, ArgoCD/GitOps workflows
• Certifications: AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA/CKS
• Cost-optimization experience in AWS
