Job Summary

The Senior Manager will oversee all business applications and related activities for Compass Canada’s back‑office systems, including development, maintenance, and support of custom and COTS/SaaS software.

Responsibilities
  • Understand U.S. technology roadmap and align Canada roadmap accordingly.
  • Lead the Back Office Development Team and coordinate with the Compass Technology Enterprise Platform Support team to ensure priorities are met.
  • Stay curious about business priorities and emerging technology trends.
  • Operate comfortably in a matrixed environment with competing priorities.
  • Provide technical direction, evangelism, oversight, and counsel on technology decisions.
  • Navigate business‑driven needs while keeping systems operational and handling unexpected situations.
  • Forecast and maintain budgets and controls.
  • Proactively identify and remove blockers, limit work in progress, and prevent distractions.
  • Identify, propose, and solicit innovative solutions to complex, time‑critical challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners across business, engineering, infrastructure, and analytics to deliver well‑managed services at scale.
  • Advocate for relevant technology patterns (cloud, BI, etc.) and consult with executive and IT leadership on new technologies and industry implications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience leading software product development, with 3+ years of management/leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and time‑management skills.
  • 5+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into digital solutions.
  • Experience leading multiple large projects, product lines, and related change management.
  • Experience in an Agile culture with proven ability to coach teams and stakeholders in adoption and maturity.
  • Experience with finance systems, especially SAP and Anaplan preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC 6.
