Overview

Software Engineer at Microsoft. The IC3 Platform team is modernizing infrastructure to improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across Microsoft 365 IC3, enabling developers to ship features with confidence and empowering AI agent development at scale.

The role focuses on designing and building platform features that help developers and AI agents iterate and test quickly for large-scale distributed software services. You will contribute to release orchestration, observability, security, and compliance to support tomorrow’s challenges and to empower developers across Microsoft.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop platform features that allow developers and AI agents to iterate and test fast for large-scale distributed software services and solutions.
  • Develop engineering for services by ensuring components are well-defined, modular, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored, and reusable.
  • Write clean and optimized code, improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
  • Gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for users.
  • Focus on customer/partner needs through a data-driven approach.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in DevOps to maintain live services and/or application frameworks.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. This includes the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in modern .NET orchestration and tooling such as .NET; experience with Linux and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical details across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).
  • Proficiency in C#, C++, Go, or similar languages.

Software Engineering IC3 — The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 - CAD $166,800 per year.
