Purchasing - Senior Buyer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing Department in Brampton, ON to manage maintenance and operational procurement.

Triple M Metal, established in 1975, is one of North America’s largest private, fully integrated recyclers of ferrous and non‑ferrous scrap metals, operating 45 facilities across Canada, the United States and Mexico.

As an MRO Buyer, you will purchase all maintenance and operational products and services, ensuring quality, price, and delivery meet business needs. You will work closely with parts coordinators to maintain inventory levels and coordinate shipments.

• Set up local purchasing and inventory systems for MRO items with parts coordinators.
• Manage purchasing functions including quoting, requisition approvals, purchase order creation, expediting, receiving, cost tracking and reporting.
• Investigate invoice exceptions and obtain approvals for final payment.
• Collaborate with leadership on sourcing and procurement initiatives and ensure compliance with Giampaolo Purchasing Policy.
• Negotiate local contracts to meet cost savings targets, regulatory standards and operational timelines.
• Implement auto‑replenishment parts, preferred suppliers, blanket purchase orders and coach coordinators.
• Comply with all safety rules and company procedures.

• Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain, Purchasing or Business Commerce.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
• Supply Chain Management Professional designation (preferred).
• Experience with purchase order generation, reporting and analysis systems.
• Strong negotiation, organization, prioritization and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• High attention to detail and ability to handle high‑stress phone interactions.
• Proficient computer skills – MS Office (especially Excel).
