We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care within geriatric and longterm care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact with focus on quality of life. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dysphagia, sensory impairments, augmentative/alternative communication needs, and patient assessment, and will be committed to delivering high-quality services in a collaborative environment.
*Duties*
* Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for geriatric patients across various diagnosis.
* Conducts age-appropriate clinical and functional speech-language/communication assessments, develops therapy treatment plans based upon assessment findings and patient/family input.
* Provide therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve speech clarity, language comprehension, and social communication.
* Collaborate with nursing, dietitians, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistency of care.
* Serves as educator in appropriate areas to patients, families, clinic staff, school staff and others involved in patient care and programming
* Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
*Experience*
* Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing disorders.
* Experience conducting patient assessments and therapy programs is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of patient care principles within geriatric populations.
* Familiarity with school-based programs and collaboration with educational staff is a plus. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: $43.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
