Cognita Schools
About Cognita Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 100+ schools in 21 countries – in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East – serving more than 100,000 students. Each of our schools is uniquely proud, yet our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
About The Role We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled SEO Executive to drive the growth and visibility of our UK schools online. The SEO Executive will lead and execute SEO initiatives across multiple schools, ensuring a strong and competitive presence across Google search results and emerging AI‑driven search platforms such as ChatGPT. This role focuses on technical optimisation and the creation of high‑quality content that enhances brand authority and improves search engine visibility. The ideal candidate will closely monitor changes to Google’s algorithm, identify new opportunities to strengthen organic performance, track SEO results against KPIs, and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Lead, the SEO Executive will collaborate with specialist digital teams – the SEO Specialist, web team, and web developers – to deliver best‑in‑class SEO outcomes.
This is a permanent, full‑time position. The role is hybrid, working three days a week in our Central London Office.
Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will bring strong technical SEO expertise, including knowledge of site architecture, crawling, indexing, schema markup, and Core Web Vitals such as loading speed. They will also have solid on‑page SEO experience, optimising meta tags, headings, URLs, and internal linking, supported by strong copywriting skills. Excellent analytical abilities are essential, enabling the translation of SEO performance data into clear, actionable insights. Highly organised and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, the candidate will collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders, deliver projects successfully, and have proven experience across both technical and content SEO. Proficiency with tools such as SEMrush, Google Analytics/Search Console, and confidence in presenting performance insights to stakeholders to help shape and inform the wider strategy are also required.
