Responsibilities
- Supervise daily office operations, including patient scheduling, billing, coding, and medical records management using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, and Eaglesoft.
- Oversee fiscal management activities including budgeting, financial reporting, and managing accounts receivable/payable to ensure the practice's financial health.
- Lead human resources functions by recruiting, training, supervising staff, and conducting performance evaluations to foster a motivated and professional team environment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality and security of all medical records and patient information.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize workflow in various healthcare settings such as acute care, hospital environments, dental clinics, or veterinary practices.
- Manage practice management tasks including insurance claims processing, managed care negotiations, utilization management, and ensuring adherence to JCAHO standards.
- Support medical administrative functions by overseeing appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
- Maintain proficiency in medical terminology and stay updated on healthcare regulations affecting office management practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administration with a strong background in medical office operations across diverse settings such as clinics or hospitals.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading teams within a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of fiscal management principles including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle management.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and medical records management protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environments like acute care or dental clinics.
- Experience with medical billing procedures, insurance claims processing, managed care negotiations, and utilization management is highly desirable.
