Description of Work
The Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK ADATC) is seeking an individual for the full-time Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II position. This individual is responsible for overseeing all Facility Services functions, including maintenance, grounds, motor fleet vehicles, and environmental services. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role ensures efficient and timely preventive maintenance and repairs across all buildings, equipment, and grounds. The position requires strong knowledge of building and mechanical trades, construction and repair techniques, applicable codes and regulations, and the ability to perform journey-level work. Responsibilities include reading schematics and blueprints, estimating project costs, and supervising and training staff while maintaining effective working relationships.

Recruitment Range: $50, $88,607.00Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Considerable knowledge of repair, maintenance and construction techniques and of the tools, methods, practices, materials and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades.
- Working knowledge of building codes and all other rules and regulations governing repair, maintenance and construction of facilities.
- Ability to perform journey level work in a variety of trades, to read schematics and blueprints, and to estimate repair and construction projects.
- Ability to estimate cost and amount of needed repair and replacement parts for operating equipment and building structures
- Ability to train, direct and supervise subordinates and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

About the Facility:JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of alcohol and other drug dependent adults of the 37 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats chemically dependent consumers and those who have a substance abuse and psychiatric diagnosis. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.
