Role Overview
The Systems Integration Specialist is responsible for building, improving, and maintaining UberDisplays' internal tool-integration ecosystem. This role focuses on automations, workflows, data movement, and AI-enabled agents that connect systems such as CRM → Project Management → Service → Accounting (and beyond).
You'll work day-to-day with our Automations Consultant to expand our capabilities using platforms like n8n and other automation/orchestration tools. The right person is a hands-on builder who's comfortable with logic, APIs, and light code (e.g., JSON, webhooks, payload structures), and who can translate business needs into reliable automated workflows.
Secondary responsibilities include assisting with internal IT support and data security. While these duties are important, the primary focus of this role is systems integration and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Integration & Automation (Primary)
- Design, build, and maintain cross-platform automations connecting business-critical tools (CRM, PM, Service, Accounting, communications, file systems, etc.).
- Own end-to-end workflow delivery: requirements → build → test → deploy → monitor → improve.
- Use n8n (and similar tools) to create scalable, maintainable automations.
- Implement API integrations, webhooks, and data transformations to keep systems accurate and in sync.
AI Agents, RAG, and Data Pipelines (Primary)
- Build and support AI-powered agents that assist internal workflows, reporting, service operations, and knowledge retrieval.
- Develop and manage RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) databases to improve internal search, SOP access, and automated decision support.
- Connect agents to operational tools so outputs are actionable (tasks created, records updated, notifications sent, etc.).
- Identify and pilot high-value AI/automation use cases across departments.
Monitoring, Reliability & Documentation (Primary)
- Monitor integrations for failures, latency, and data quality; troubleshoot quickly and permanently.
- Establish logging/alerting standards so workflows are transparent and dependable.
- Maintain documentation and SOPs for automations, integrations, and AI agent behavior.
- Ensure integrations support scalability, data integrity, and sensible access controls.
Internal IT Support & Data Security (Secondary)
- Provide day-to-day IT support for internal teams (hardware/software setup, troubleshooting, access issues).
- Help manage office technology stack, devices, and user accounts.
- Assist with data security best practices, permissions hygiene, and secure tool usage.
- Coordinate with vendors/MSPs as needed for infrastructure, networking, and security initiatives.
- Support onboarding/offboarding with device provisioning and access management.
Note: IT and security tasks are a secondary responsibility. The role is primarily measured on automation, integration, and AI system success.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years building automations, integrations, or workflow systems across business tools.
- Hands-on experience with n8n or similar orchestration tools (Zapier, Make, Workato, , etc.).
- Experience connecting systems like CRM, Project Management, Service, Accounting, or operational platforms.
- Comfort with APIs and light code, including:
- JSON payloads/structures
- Webhooks
- Logic/expressions used in automation tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills across workflows, data flow, and tool handoffs.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, translating business problems into system solutions.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Real-world experience building/operating AI agents in business workflows.
- Familiarity with RAG databases, vector stores, and retrieval pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Python/JavaScript (applied to automation).
- Experience with IT onboarding/offboarding, device management, or permissions administration.
- Practical understanding of data security fundamentals (MFA, least-privilege access, secure sharing, etc.).
- Background scaling internal systems in a fast-growing company.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- CRM → PM → Service → Accounting workflows run reliably with minimal manual intervention.
- New automations and AI agents ship regularly with measurable time savings.
- Failures are caught quickly with clear monitoring and root-cause fixes.
- Documentation/SOPs make workflows easy to maintain and expand.
- Internal teams feel supported on IT needs without disrupting automation priorities.
- Security posture improves through clean permissions, sensible access, and safe tool practices.
