Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Line Cook/Prep Cook will work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to create delicious and visually appealing dishes while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Preferred Bi-lingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
• Cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas throughout the shift.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management.

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen operations is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety practices is crucial for maintaining a safe cooking environment.
• Experience with meal preparation in a restaurant setting is advantageous.
• Ability to effectively use kitchen tools such as knives and other cooking equipment.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
