About The Role

The Distinguished Data Engineer at Capital One Software is a strategic technical leader responsible for spearheading the development and adoption of advanced cloud-based data management tools. This role involves driving innovation in data publishing, governance, and infrastructure, ensuring that Capital One remains at the cutting edge of data engineering practices. The position requires deep expertise in data architecture, cloud platforms, and modern programming languages such as Python, Java, and Go. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and influence enterprise-wide technology strategies. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, and SQL
• Experience with Kafka, Airflow, Spark, AWS Glue, and Kinesis
• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake
• Experience deploying machine learning models (preferred)
• Strong understanding of cloud computing, data governance, and modern data management tools
